So I will start with this week's MWM #38 layout:
And here is my sketch:
Products used in this layout:
- DCWV Brights Cardstock
- Basic Grey "Eva" paper collection and sticker embellies
- AC Thickers in Sprinkles and Jewelry Box
- Misc chipboard shapes
- Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Spring Violet and Peach
- Journal Genie "Funky" template
I have to say, this picture is awful.....but I was so sick, I took the picture and that was that! It really does look better in person, but don't they all? (yes!) I don't know how I felt about this sketch, especially the scrolls. I think it is a neat idea, but not for a two page layout. Maybe a one page layout, that will end up in a scrapbook frame, on display. I love the idea, but it's not for me. I am glad that I tried it though!
I also purchased Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist from Scrapbook Steals this past Monday. I knew I had to try it out on my layout....I couldn't wait! Now, I am NOT happy with the way it came out on the right hand side of the layout AT ALL! But it is a small learning curve! I just have to not use as much next time. I do love how it came out on the chipboard. They make boring chipboard super shimmery and pretty!
Now, even though I am still sick I decided to scrap anyway to make myself feel better! HAHA! And I am glad I did because I LOVE the way my Sketchy Thursday's sketch came out today!
Here is the layout:
And here is my sketch:
Products used in my sketch:
- AC specialty cardstock
- Echo Park Paper "Life is Good"
- AC Thickers in jewelry box
- Martha Stewart large butterfly punch
- MME brown rick rack ribbon
- Basic grey brads
- Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in "sand"
Now, it's clear I am a newbie at glimmer mists! I just spritzed some on the sides of my layout like I see some people do, but it's not as "amazing" as other people make it look! I think another problem is that my paper already had a pearly finish. If any of you amazingly, talented, beautiful, WONDERFUL ladies has any advice, PLEASE LET ME KNOW by leaving me any tips you have in a comment below! Thank you in advance!!!
You know, honestly....sometimes I get so defeated in this scrapbooking hobby. I always feel like I do really well, and then I do a layout, and I hate it. Then I feel like it takes me awhile to get back to where I was, and I think I am doing so good......until I browse online at the MILLIONS of layouts that are out there. I feel like there is just too much out there, to many techniques, so many products, and I feel like I *need* them ALL, and I don't ever get them, then I will never be able to scrap to my best ability!!!! I sound like a crazy person! But it's true! On the flip side, I guess that is what keeps it so interesting and challenging...knowing that there is so much to learn. Besides, I have only been doing this a year, and I think I am pretty good! You have to toot your own horn every once in awhile!
I think Kyle is taking me shopping on Sunday for our 3 year anniversary together! Mommy needs new clothes! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with family and friends! Later gator!
