I think it's time that I give my blog some love!!

I swear I am alive!  HAHA!  I have just been so busy, trying to get acclimated to my new schedule now that I am a working mama!  SO between balancing being a mommy, a loving fiance, and a career woman I am hard pressed for time to scrap!

However, today is my day off, and I took KK in to daycare so I get some "me" time.  (So important!!)  Anyway, so here is some of the stuff I have scrapped in the last few weeks!

Products used in my layout:
  • Kraft paper
  • Echo Park Happy Days PP
  • AC buttons
  • MME Twine
  • WRMK mini brads
  • black pigment ink
This sketch was for Scrapbook Steals' MWM Topaz #3??  I think.  hahaha...my brain is fried!  I was kind of unsure about this collection kit, but I won it in a contest, and one it hit my hands I loved it more than I did before!  It really is a cute paper collection, and I can't wait to use it again!

Products used in my layout:
  • Kraft paper
  • Echo Park Victoria Gardens PP
  • AC Thickers in salutations
  • recollections flowers and pearls
  • Stickles in diamond
  • the girls paperie sticker embellies
First of all, let me say how much I love love love love love LOVE this photo of my baby girl and me.  It was taken at our mommy and me photo shoot back in may, and I couldn't love a photo more than this.  It represents perfectly how special mine and KK's relationship is...she loves my hair..plays with it all the time...even in her sleep.  I am so glad I have this picture to capture this special moment.

Secondly, this paper kit is divine!  SO soft, feminine, and gorgeous!  The paper goes perfectly with the picture.  This sketch was based off of Scrapbook Steals' MWM Topaz #4, the left side of the sketch.  Once again Kristy Lee hit it out of the park with her amazing sketches!!

Products used in my sketch:
  • Kraft paper
  • Echo park Splash PP
  • MME twine
  • Stickles in blue, diamond, and gold
  • DMC floss
  • MS pigment ink
I made this page (with no sketch!  yay!) for a wonderful, beautiful friend of mine that I have known for a long time.  She has an uber cute grandbaby and she asked me to scrap some pics of her newest little love and her son and his family at the Siesta Key.  I love how it came out, and I hope she loves it too!

I just realized that I used Echo Park to scrap the last three weeks of layouts!  I must be in looove <3

Okay, well my next day off is Thursday, but I have a dr's appt and Kyle is home with me!  So we might have lunch somewhere and have some alone time!  Until then!!!

Happy Scrappin!!!

Topaz #2 - Scrapbook Steals MWM!

We are already on week #2 of our new mid-week mojos, and it is another fabulous sketch by the amazing Kristy Lee!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my interpretation:

Products used in my sketch:
  • American Crafts kraft paper
  • MME Stella & Rose papers
  • Sassafrass Lass paper whimsies
  • MME So Sophie journaling card
  • MME Fine and Dandy ribbon trim
  • AC Margarita ribbon trim
  • MME Stella & Rose buttons and charms
  • Recollections faux pearls
  • Stickles in gold and diamond
  • AC Thickers in Sunrise
  • Martha Stewart pigment ink

I just got these thickers from Scrapbook Steals!  Aren't they neat??  They are true chipboard, so you can either leave them plain like I did or you can alter them as well.  I will definitely alter them next time I use them for a different look, but I loved the color combo on this page so I left them alone.

I chose this song for the title and journaling, because the day we took these pics, Kadence was definitely letting her true colors show!  It was late in the day, she was tired and cranky, and she didn't care that we were trying to get nice mommy and me pictures!  I even tried to bribe her with cookies.  Nothing helped!

Okay well that is it for now!  I am actually NOT going into work tomorrow, my first official day will be Tuesday.  So KK is going to daycare, and mommy is staying home!  Guess who is scrapping all day!???

THIS GIRL!!  WHOOO HOO!

Talk to you soon!  <3

i went on a card making spree...

I don't know what got into me, but I decided to whip out a few cards.  SOOOO not like me.  But I like it!

The design is based off of Scrapbook Steals' Monday Card Madness Sketch #43.  I have MAYBE done a MCM one other time, and today I did three!

Products used:
  • Kraft paper
  • Pink Paislee Sweetness paper collection
  • Brown pigment ink

Products used:
  • Kraft paper
  • MME Love Me Do collection kit
  • Martha Stewart pigment ink
  • Stickles in red
  • Pink Paislee sweetness alphas

Products used:
  • DCWV cardstock
  • KI Memories Celebrate kit
  • Misc rub ons
  • Stickles in diamond and red
  • Echo Park everybody loves christmas paper (red with pink polka dots)

I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did creating them!  Maybe I am onto something...cards aren't so bad afterall!  =)

I love naptime.

Who doesn't?  Not only is it the quiet (but too short) break in all of our days, but it also is my scrappy time!  I am usually too tired at night, or spending time with hubby.....so a solid naptime is the answer to my scrappy prayers!

I am really really loving the sketches on The Scrappiest blog.  I don't know what it is about them, but they just speak to me!  I have only done one so far, but I have fallen in love with all their sketches they come out with.  And something about this sketch this week just said  SCRAP ME!!!

Here is sketch 131:

And my take on the sketch:

Products used in my layout:
  • Kraft paper
  • Crate Paper Bliss Collection
  • K&Co ribbon trim
  • misc black ribbon
  • DMC floss
  • Thickers in Delight
  • EK Success border punch
  • Stickles in Thistle and Diamond
  • Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type

I really love how it turned out!  I saw this pic and I just knew what papers to use with it!  And actually, you cant see it in the picture, but the butterflies on her pink blanket and on her walls match the butterfly chipboard from the Bliss collection almost to a T!

I love the frame cut out from the papers too.  Such a neat idea. I would have never thought of doing that, but I am sure I will be using that again!  It was so easy to do to!  I must admit, I did scraplift one of the DT sketches and I added some stitching to the frame...I love that extra touch.

That's all for now!!  See ya later alligator!

Catching up from a busy weekend...

This is going to be a short entry...I have a splitting headache and want to get these uploaded as soon as possible because tonight is the deadline for the new set of MWMs!

I have worked on a few layouts this weekend first is a layout I did for Scrapbook Steals.  We are starting over fresh, with Topaz #1.  And here is my Topaz #1:

Products used in my layout:
  • MME Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky
  • Prima flowers
  • AC ribbon
  • DMC floss
  • Stickles in Diamond
  • AC Thickers in Delight
  • Glimmer Mist in Patina
I struggled and struggled with the title on this layout.  No matter what I do to it I don't like it.  So I am just leaving it.  I did take the twine off just a minute ago and it looks better.  I don't know what is wrong with me but I just can't get it right on this layout.  And it ticks me off, because this is one of my good photos from one of my photo shoots with Kadence! UGH!

The next layout is for Sketchy Thursdays 7.28 sketch.  I am not happy with this one either.  I started scrapping, and just got really bored with it.  Soooooo....instead of stopping, I forced myself to keep going and this is the result!  BLAH!

Products used in my sketch:
  • Echo Park Summer Days kit
  • Martha Stewart flower punch and stamp

Okay, so after two horribly disappointing layouts in a row, I swore to not scrap for a week.  I didn't even make it past Monday!  I went to my LSS this weekend to get my hands on some of the new Authentique papers....I have been in love with them since they debuted, and now I am wondering how I scrapped without them!

This is a layout I did for Scrapbook Challenges sketch #260.

Products used in my layout:
  • Authentique Journey & Blissful papers
  • LYB doily
  • Jill Bean Soup Corrugated kraft alphas
  • Martha Stewart Optic dot border punch
  • Blissful petite type alphas
  • Journey Diction
  • Journal Genie
  • Martha Stewart pigment ink
  • Ranger Perfect Pearls in turquoise
  • Stickles in silver, gold, and diamond
I really really REALLY  love how this came out!  I am so happy with it!  I am so glad to have found a paper company that isn't necessarily geared towards so much "themed" papers, and more everyday papers. I love that these papers can be used for anything!  Sometimes, my OCD person inside of me goes nuts with so much themed stuff in my stash....I feel like I have to use it for that specific purpose...and if I don't I get all panicky and freaked out.  Hahaha, I am weird.

I am going to try to scrapbook as much as I can this week, because I'm starting WORK (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!) next Monday!  I can't believe it to be honest with you.  I have been home with KK since she was born, and I stopped working about 4 weeks before she was born.  SO----I am so used to being home it's going to be so weird.  However, I have worked my whole life (since I was 16) so I am sure, that once I get back into the swing of things I will feel like I never left!  Thankfully, I am going to the same job that I left before I moved to Ft. Laudedale.  So I know the job and I love the people, and they love me!  I couldn't ask for more!

Thanks so much for reading!  Have a great week!
